Warriors Sweep First Day of La Sierra Tournament

Loma Linda, CA – The Warriors officially kicked off their 2023 season with tournament play in the La Sierra University tournament.  LPU has big aspirations for the season as they are coming off their first bid to the GSAC tournament.  Thursday morning, the Warriors began their journey in Loma Linda, as they took on the host, La Sierra University.  They defeated La Sierra in straight sets (25-23, 25-10, 25-21), improving to 1-0 on the season.  In the second match of the day, LPU took on Aquinas (MI) who defeated our GSAC opponent, Hope International, in their first match.  LPU defeated Aquinas in straight sets as well (25-18, 25-19, 25-23), kicking off their season in dominant fashion.

When asked about their start to the season, Coach Wes Schneider stated, "Way to start the season off with two nice wins against quality opponents.  It is really nice to see everyone come together and play at such a high level.  There were so many outstanding plays today at every position.  So proud of this team and the start to the season."
