Warriors Women's Soccer 2024 Season Preview

San Dimas, CA – Life Pacific University Women's Soccer team enters the 2024 season with the majority of their starting lineup returning. In 2023, the Warriors finished 1-11 overall and 0-7 in the GSAC. After re-establishing their foundation in 2023, the Warriors will look to make an impact in the GSAC this Fall. The Warriors are led by third-year Head Coach, Joey DeSantis, who is looking to build on the Warriors' momentum from 2023.

 

As they enter the 2024 season, the Women's Soccer team is led on the attack by forwards, Brianna Figueroa and Angela Scott-Orihuela. The midfielder group consists of steady play from Mariah Kavanaugh, Alma Carroll, Mercedes Sibrian, and Audrey Corral. The backline of the defense is held down by defenders, Bryanna Sabine Yalung, Edith Mendoza, and Samantha Garcia.  In the net, Peyton Reynoso will look to build on a strong performance last season where she started 5 games for the Warriors.

 

The dynamic group is joined by a recruiting class of 4 newcomers who are looking to make an immediate impact in the 2024 season:

 

LPU kicks off their season on August 21st in an away match against Soka University. Following the match, they will face NCAA D3 opponent, University of La Verne and various NAIA opponents from surrounding conferences. LPU heads into GSAC conference play on September 18th at 9:30am against Hope International University at home.

 

Joey DeSantis enters his third season as the Director of Soccer at LPU. When asked to share his thoughts about the upcoming season, Coach DeSantis stated, "We can't wait for our new conference and what it will bring to our level of play. We know our conference can be very competitive, but we need to control what we can control to put us in a positive spot at the end of the year.  Excited to get to work with this group of ladies this year!"
