2024-25 Women's Basketball Season Preview

San Dimas, CA With a new season approaching, fresh opportunities await the Life Pacific University Women's Basketball Team. Coach Kyler Kennedy enters his 3rd season with the Warriors accompanied by lead assistant coach Ariana Clavell and assistant coach Claire Kennedy. The Warriors are returning twelve players from the team last year: Faith Schwantner, Mia Garcia, Rachel Spinosa, Becky Mitchell, Julia Cruz, Cassandra Zazueta, Mikayla Murphy, Abbigail Hartt, Faith Harris, Emily Young, Chloe Zazueta, and Gianna Pritchett.  Alongside the twelve returners, the Warriors are excited to announce the addition of seven newcomers: Madison Torres, Adrianna Torres, Calista Arzaga, Rylee Roy, Ysabel Puente, Kiana Salcedo, and Adrienne Carren.

Coming into this season, Coach Kyler feels excited and confident in the team. "We have a group of girls who are fun to be around, who work hard, and are hungry to compete this season.  It is a great blend of upper-classmen leaders along with the freshmen."

Last season, the Warriors ended with an 11-15 overall record and 2-12 record in conference play. This season the team looks forward to a new landscape within the reimagined GSAC. Coach Kennedy stated, "With a few new teams in conference, we are excited for a new-look GSAC, but all our focus is on our team, building great habits and having high standards, which will allow us to have a great experience this year."

This year, as the Warriors gear up for another season in a competitive conference, they also are aiming to continue to play in God's image.  Coach Kyler expands on this by stating, "We want to glorify God in the way we compete on the court, giving maximum effort and having a continuous growth mindset.  As important, we want to glorify God in the way wetreat each other and in the way we respond to any adversity that may come our way this season."

The Warriors will kick off their season with a home game on October 29th, as they host Nobel University at 7:30 p.m. on Mehl Court.
