
Women's Basketball Season Preview 2023-24
San Dimas, CA – Life Pacific University's Women's Basketball team enter the 2023-24 season, returning almost their entire roster from last season. In 2022-23, the Warriors finished their season with an overall record of 6-22 and were 2-16 in the GSAC. The 2022-23 season proved to be a great building season for the program alongside first-year Head Coach, Kyler Kennedy. This proved to be a historic season for the Warriors, as they clutched their first GSAC win in program history on January 7th against Ottawa University (AZ). The season was then headlined with their second victory over Ottawa University (AZ) on February 2nd, which secured the program record for most wins in a season. As they look to continue building this year, the Warriors will look to build on their GSAC wins and secure a position in the GSAC tournament.
As they enter the 2023-24 season, they return notable starters from last year, led by junior, Rachel Spinosa, who finished 3rd in scoring in the GSAC, with 18.8 points/game. Other notable starters that are returning from last year include Julianna Sanchez and Mikayla Murphy.
The returners are joined by a recruiting class of 11 newcomers:

LPU kicks off their season on October 28th at the Antelope Valley Classic tournament against University of Antelope Valley at 6:00pm. Their schedule features multiple non-conference matchups, headlined by exhibition matches against NCAA DI and D2 opponents. The Warriors will face UC San Diego on November 8th at 12:00pm as well UC Santa Barbara on December 20th at 2:00pm. The conference schedule poses to be rigorous and competitive as it always is, with multiple GSAC programs having high national standing last season.
Kyler Kennedy enters his second season as the Head Coach of the program, looking to build on the foundational season last year. When asked to share his thoughts about the upcoming season, Coach Kyler stated, "I can't put into words how excited we are about the upcoming season. The Lord has brought together an incredible group of young women who are committed to excellence on and off the court. All of our focus will be on getting 1% better each day, and the process will be our prize as we attack the year!"
