Three Different Warriors Finish With Double-Double in Victory Over RedHawks

Mesa, AZ - The Warriors continued their stellar play on the season, as they picked up another road GSAC victory, defeating Benedictine University Mesa by a final score of 63-52.  While the offense has been rolling this season for the Warriors, they relied heavily on their defensive effort, holding BenU to 32% from the field and 13% from the perimeter.  Three different Warriors finished with a double-double, as the Warriors dominated the rebounding battle 46-26.  Rico Hopping finished with 17 points and 10 rebounds, while also getting 2 blocks on the defensive end.  Reigning GSAC Defender of the Week, Dylan Cabs, finished with 15 points and 11 rebounds, and Vince Fier finished with 10 points, 11 rebounds, and 3 assists.  With the victory, the Warriors improve to 11-5 on the season and 5-3 in the GSAC.  They will be back on the court on Saturday afternoon, as they take on Park University, located in Gilbert, AZ.

When asked to reflect on their victory, Coach Tim Cook stated, "With the team going on the road for the first two games of the second half of GSAC play, we knew that defense had to travel.  I'm incredibly proud of the way that the guys are contributing on the defensive end and then just playing together offensively.  That was a total team win with collective buy-in on both sides of the ball.  We are continuing to strive to get better every day."
