
Cabs Named GSAC Defender of the Week
San Dimas, CA - Junior forward, Dylan Cabs, has been named the GSAC Defensive Player of the Week, following his performance in LPU's games over this past weekend. The Warriors went 1-1 this past weekend, as they lost a road matchup on Thursday at the #7 ranked, Master's University. On Saturday, the Warriors pulled off the upset over #20 ranked Hope International, giving the Royals their first GSAC loss of the season. The Warriors are currently #4 in the GSAC standings, sitting with an overall record of 10-5 and 4-3 in GSAC play. The Warriors have seen their defense grow significantly this season, thanks in large part to the impact that Dylan Cabs has on that end of the floor. Through 15 games into the season, Cabs sits at tied for 4th in the GSAC in blocked shots, averaging 1.0 block per game. He also is #6 in the GSAC in steals, averaging 1.6 steals per game. He is also 5th in the GSAC in rebounding, averaging 5.8 rebounds per game. Along with all of the statistics to back his defensive impact, he is tasked with guarding the best player on the opposing team on a nightly basis.
When asked to share his thought's on Cabs being named GSAC Defensive Player of the Week, Coach Tim Cook stated, "Dylan Cabs being recognized as the Defensive Player of the Week is such a great honor. He is our glue guy. He is used in so many different positions on the court both offensively and defensively. He is an amazing player all around and is an unselfish distributor on the court. He is also one of the most high-quality character guys that I have had here in our program."
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK - DYLAN CABS
Cabs continued his steady defensive play, cementing himself as one of the best defenders in the GSAC. He finished the weekend with 5 total steals and 1 block, to go along with 11 defensive rebounds. For the weekend, he averaged 7 points, 7 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 2.5 steals per game.
