San Dimas, CA - On Wednesday evening, the Warriors faced off against cross-town rival, the University of La Verne Leopards. Despite trailing by 6 at halftime, the Warriors were able to battle back and come out with the victory by a final score of 92-87. Rico Hopping finished with a career high 36 points as he finished 13-19 from the field and 7-11 from 3-point range. Austin Cook was impressive as well, finishing with 21 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 steals. Albert Matute provided a much needed scoring boost as he finished with 16 points and 6 rebounds. Dylan Cabs continued his balanced play, finishing with 6 points, while leading the Warriors in rebounds (11) and assists (5).
With the victory, LPU improves to 2-1 on the season. The Warriors travel to Lancaster on Saturday to take on West Coast Baptist at 5pm PST.
