Bio

Tim Cook brings 20 plus years of playing and coaching experience to Life Pacific (LPU). Prior to LPU, Coach Cook spent four years at San Diego Christian College (2011-2014) and the eight previous seasons assisting at NAIA Power and now D-1, California Baptist University (2003-2010). At CBU, Cook helped build a top caliber NAIA and NCAA Division II program, where the Lancers were a number one NAIA Division I ranked team in 2008-2009 and were ranked in the top twenty in the country five out of the eight seasons he was on staff. He was part of the 2009 win over NCAA Division I Pepperdine University and had a hand in bringing three All-Americans to the Lancer's squad, one of which was GSAC Player of the Year in 2007-2008. He has also coached several NBA and WNBA players through skill development and summer leagues.

Prior to CBU, Tim was a key component to turning a 0-31 program at Cascade College (2001-2003) in Portland, Oregon, into a 27-8 team who made an NAIA Division II Sweet 16 appearance at the NAIA National Tournament in 2002. From 1996-2001, he was both a head and assistant coach at high schools in Vancouver, Washington, and Salem, Oregon. He led elite high school teams, such as Prairie High School, which qualified for the Washington State Final Four in 2001. His focus on the individual growth of the players under him was a key to their success.

Cook played five years of semi-professional basketball for Team Concept after receiving his Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Oregon in Political Science. He also earned his Masters of Education degree at The Chaminade University In Honolulu, Hawaii.

In the last four years as Head Men's Basketball Coach at LP, Tim led the Warriors to an overall record of 51-42. During that time, the Warriors went to back-to-back NCCAA National Tournaments in the 2016-17 and 2017-18 seasons after winning two conference tournaments and sequentially the Western Regional titles. Cook also coached the NCCAA 2017-18 National Player of the Year, who also achieved All-American status. Coach Cook enjoys helping build competitive programs through Christian discipleship, teamwork, common goals, and leadership at LPU. Most importantly, however, is Cook's desire to develop student-athletes who seek the highest level of integrity, discipline, and honor through the Gospel, academics, and athletics, in alignment with LPU's mission of educating and developing good character in young men and women.
